Matthew Roman holds a Bachler of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame where he was afforded the opportunity to live and study in Rome, Italy for one year. He moved to Portland, Oregon in 1994 with his wife and son to pursue a career in architecture and urban design. He has been working ever since to preserve Portland’s architectural heritage both through his architectural design and support of not-for-profit organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Pittock Mansion Society and Restore Oregon, elected Board Chair of both organizations. He is also a founding board member of the Preservation Artisans Guild. He was appointed to the Portland Historic Landmarks Commission in 2016. Matthew’s work includes numerous renovations and restorations of historic structures throughout the Portland/Vancouver area.
